MAX MIRROR 2005 REPORT

MMM was great fun. There was a little too much wind on Monday for some of the newer helms and crews which resulted in a few capsizes. So in the afternoon there was a chance to polish up capsize technique in the pool! Thank you Nick Blevins for standing in the rather chilly water to help.

Those with teenagers in the boat had some super sailing - there were big smiles on the jetty afterwards. And those in the top group were really put through their paces by Rachel Wigmore (not so long sailing mirrors herself) and Jonathon Pudney (who sailed them a bit longer ago!).

Tuesday
was a little less windy - a perfect day for the Bosham icecream hunting expedition. The icecream man was most obliging - I just hope we didn't bring back too much Bosham mud!

It was fun to be joined by those who had been sailing in the Nationals and I was very impressed with how well they helped the newer/younger sailors. Olivia Bottomley stepped in at the last minute when I was a helper short, Becca Kalderon jumped overboard to rescue a capsized boat (first making sure her charges were safe) and Hele Newell did sterling work helping to launch over the mud. And those were just the ones I happened to see - thank you all of you for helping.
