BETTY MOORE
Members will be saddened to learn of the death last night of Betty Moore.

Betty had been a member of the club for over 60 years, owning her Sunbeam "Why" since 1947. She was an outstanding helmswomen and over the years won all the Class trophies including the McMeeken Cup for the best points in a season on no less than 5 occasions. One of her proudest moments in recent years was winning the first ever Skandia Cowes Week Ladies Prize in 2006 presented by Helen MacArthur awarded for her outstanding contribution to Cowes Week. Betty demonstrated her skill again this year at Cowes winning the Cowes UDC Cup which to her delight was on Ladies Day. Above all Betty had a marvellous sense on humour and made friends easily, she was a true sportswomen who believed in fair play.
