Tani Bassadone died suddenly last Friday. He was a well known and much loved member of Itchenor Sailing Club for many years. A sailor himself, he had a particular interested in youth sailing and his enthusiasm inspired numerous young Itchenor members during his time as both Mirror and 420 class captains. He was dedicated to the classes and the children, and was endlessly to be found bent over a boat changing settings, or driving groups of kids to open meetings. A generation of young Itchenor sailors owe him a great debt as they went on to success after success in sailing, including his own daughter Christina. He will be sadly missed.
The funeral is Thursday, 9th October 2008 at St Peter's Catholic church in East Wittering at 11 a.m. All are welcome, please be there by 10:45. The church service will be followed by a wake at the Chichester Park Hotel.
