25 Sept DARLING ASSOCIATES CRACKS ON IN SB3 WORLDS
We are rocking along… Sailing in 10 – 15 knots, 137 boat fleet is split into two flights but from this morning will be gold and silver fleets. We have led at some point in all of the first 8 races, then got wrong side of big shift in race 9. currently 9th overall but can still win.

Had a whole string of seconds then at last won a race yesterday. Were 4th at the first mark and split left down the run – Alice on Main and Sian on spinnaker with Alastair on tactics and jib. Led into leeward and extended up the beat. Very nervous second run but ahead at leeward mark. Second place boat went to cover third so yachted off for the gun!

We have championship winning boat speed (mainly thanks to Roger Yeoman’s work on the rig) but starting is tricky. Two days to go – please click here to see the results to date (1036 on 25 September)

20 Sept MULTIHULL OFFSHORE CRUISER RACER NATIONALS
CONGRATULATIONS TO MIKE, ANDY AND GEORGE

Mike Wigmore, Andy Shaw and George Yeoman won the Multihull Offshore Cruiser Racer Nationals held at Bembridge from 11-14 September. Mike, who also sails a Swallow, has owned various multihulls since 2000 previously winning his class at Cowes and the Winter series at Royal Southampton but this was his first win in the Nationals. Clearly the help from two young ISC aces did the trick.

4 Sept INTERNATIONAL 14 ARMBAND CUP
The International 14 Fleet held its annual "Armband Cup" in Chichester Harbour on 31st August. The only entry criterion is that each team includes one person who's never been in a 14 before. The idea is for potential newcomers to the fleet to test out the boats and also for friends/relations to experience first-hand what their 14-sailing friends go on about ad nauseam for the rest of the year.
