HANDICAPPING
The event will be subject to handicapping.  A handicap number will be awarded to each boat based on the sum of the following:
A: The age of the helm to the extent it is over 50 (this will be a negative number of the helm is under 50)
B: 2/3 times the combined helm and crew ages
C: 1/2 a point for each year either member of the crew exceeds 60
The race officer will then determine in his absolute discretion the number of minutes to be given per handicap number.  This is likely to be in the region of 20 seconds for light winds and 45 seconds for stronger winds.
Classic 14’s will sail on a PN of 980
Current rules 14’s will sail on a PN of 867
