Saturday morning was miserable and even the hardiest and most committed decided that the warmth of the new dining room was much to be preferred. Nevertheless in the cold wet NE Migrant and Avocet were bobbing around on their moorings putting their boats back together and trying to remember where all the string went. The rain stopped for the afternoon and Migrant and Skua had a 'shakedown match race', which is one way of keeping warm.

Unlike 2007 April has been pretty foul but Sunday morning heralded something more like last year. It was bright, sunny and with a pleasant breeze. Marengo with her new stick up won the start and had a 20 metre lead whilst under spinnaker near East Head which for no apparent reason quickly became 50 metres - and then by the finish more like 400 metres. Migrant followed in second with Skua a distant third having taken a penalty for lassooing Richard Thompson's neck with their spinnaker sheet whilst running abeam and Cockersootie fourth.
