The call to arms for the XOD fleet came from the Class Captain to arm themselves with work clobber, warm gear and tools and work on the Staging over the weekend. Eleven Itchenor Swallows entered the three race all-to-count Reach trophy on Saturday 3rd October. The overnight rain subsided in time for the 9.30 launch - but unfortunately the wind went with it leaving the fleet to be towed out to the race course. Bad hair day ! W ell that didn't begin to describe WER . R oger had his hair cut for £ 5 plus 50 p tip. My Covid haircut was , let's just say a lot more. Wind over tide 18 -2 2 knots with 25kn spikes, it felt like 30 k , I was like a drowned rat within seconds .
