Environmental Sustainability

Here at ISC we are dedicated to doing our bit for the environment.

It's for this reason that we are following the guidelines given by the RYA The GreenBlue programme and we are proud to have received their Bronze Award for being single use plastic free!

Environmental Statement

Itchenor Sailing Club recognises that it has a responsibility to the environment beyond legal and regulatory requirements. We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and continually improving our environmental performance as an integral part of our business strategy and operating methods.

Responsibility

Anna Goodman, Club Secretary and Harriet Patterson, General Committee Member are responsible for ensuring that this environmental policy is implemented, however, all employees have a responsibility in their area to ensure that the aims and object of this policy are met.

Policy Aims

We endeavour to:

• Comply with all relevant regulatory requirements.
• Continually improve and reduce environmental performance.
• Continually improve and reduce environmental impacts.
• Increase employee awareness.

Paper

We will endeavour to ensure that all paper waste is recycled

Energy and Water

We will seek to reduce our energy and water usage by implementing tools such as timers and sensors

Office Supplies

We will endeavour to use only use items that are made from previously recycled materials and reduce the number of plastic products that are bought into the Club

Transportation

We will endeavour to reduce unnecessary trips to reduce fuel usage

Maintenance and Cleaning

We will endeavour to use environmentally friendly products and ensure we are using refillable chemicals.

Monitoring and Improvement

We will:

• Comply with all relevant regulatory requirements.
• Continually improve and monitor environmental performance.
• Continually improve and reduce environmental impacts.

Culture

We will update this policy at least once annually in consultation with staff and other stakeholders where necessary.
