Rowing at Itchenor

Rowing is great fun and fantastic whole body exercise. From small beginnings in 2015 when the club was lent Bembridge, a vintage fixed seat coxed four, rowing has become hugely popular with over 200 active rowers.

As well as the beautiful Bembridge, the club now has Iccanore, a Celtic Longboat also a fixed seat coxed four, and Quadrille a coastal sliding seat coxed four. We welcome everyone from total novice to experienced sculler. No special equipment or clothing is required. Outings are usually between 1 to 2 hours long and explore Chichester harbour (and coffee stops!).  Outing are bookable on the club website with a £6 per person per row fee payable via tickets purchased from the club office.

Outings can be peaceful bird watching and seal spotting events or more strenuous  learning to scull or training to compete in local races, including our own regatta. As the days lengthen there are opportunities to row before or after work and see the sun rise or set.

Rowing provides a great opportunity to meet new people and many who have joined the rowing / sculling outings have been delighted that this had led to the development of strong friendships . Many rowers then take advantage of the sailing opportunities and the social events . What a great way to enjoy the harbour!

Rowing Events 2023

A fantastic video on the ISC Rowers overtaking other participants at the Round Hayling Island Race 2022!

Spotted on Wednesday 2nd February 5 rowers and a dog returning from a glorious trip to Dell Quay. The outing included Bacon Butties and coffee at Chichester Marina.

Rowing  has been in full swing since New Year's Day with 50 outings so far! We have had numerous flat calm sunny days perfect for watching birds and seals and ideal for rowing in Quadrille.

Why not come and join in and enjoy a meal or drink while you are here?

Book online or contact Chris Blevins to book your first rowing outing.
