    RS200 Sprint Racing at Itchenor Sailing Club

  • Easter Tray 2025

    The traditional season opener of the 14 calendar is the Easter Tray. Three days of varied conditions saw a total of 14 boats launch. For some this was the first outing since the worlds in Garda, others had been out training for three weekends already. POW  at Weymouth is only a month away, so race practice will be at a premium.     Swallow Training Day

    Last Saturday brought 12 Swallows and about 40 people together for a training day led by former national, European and team racing champion and current Team GB Olympic strategist Mark Rushall.  There we were all togged up (as bidden) to go sailing but we had a sauna experience inside on a warm morning in the Members Room whilst digesting Mark's masterful introduction - with supporting acts from Chairman James (how the floppy

    Gently Used Kit Sale!

    The Transit Committee did an great job with the Used Kit Sale on Sunday 6th April. Henry and Effie drove a hard bargain! We did not start out with that much merchandise, but they sold nearly all of it and raised £307 for Chestnut Tree House.

    Opening Race Day

    Great opening race day on Saturday 29th March. Class Captain's tea spoons won by Philip Pascall on Marengo for his heroic efforts getting their boat off the mud. Bubbly won by Mike Wigmore, Richard Stephens and Charles Hyatt on Gwaihir for 3 bullets in the unofficial mini-series which we decided to do instead of a reverse pursuit.     Rowing Dinner

    The rowing dinner on Friday, 21 March, was well attended with international oarsman Peter Haining and Mike Gilbert of the Coastal Rowing Academy as guests. Tributes were paid to outgoing Rowing Captain Chris Blevins by his successor Jeremy Thompson, the Commodore, Peter and Mike for the tremendous work he has done in developing and establishing coastal rowing not only at ISC but also in the 3 Harbours area, namely Chichester, Langstone and Portsmouth.

    Head of the Harbour Rowing Event - Saturday 8th March

    Well done to everyone who took part in the Three Harbours Head of the Harbour on Saturday and was based at ISC.  Well done to the 24 ISC rowers and coxes who participated.  The mens quad recorded the fastest time of the day at 44 minutes and 47 seconds.  The ladies quad finished only 2 seconds behind Bosham - very tough luck in a 51 minute race over 9km.  Full results are to be found in the
