420 Youth Nationals 2026

Fourteen Itchenor sailors competed in the Youth Nationals 7-10 April at HISC in the 420 class.  Day one saw sunshine and a 20-25 kts of south-easterly breeze together with a big swell rolling in.  These testing conditions were clearly enjoyed by Itchenor, with Ed leading overnight, Lucas in 2^nd and Felix and Lucy 8^th.  The sun continued through the week and the wind moderated to give a further three days of excellent racing in Hayling Bay.  Three Itchenor boats qualified for the medal race, with Pippa ending up 5^th overall, 2^nd girl and 1^st U17.  Ed was 8^th overall and Rupert and Freddie 9^th (and 2^nd U17).

As a result, six Itchenor boats have qualified for the World Championships in France in July.  Congratulations to Ed, Felix, Freddie, Lucas, Lucy, Pippa, Rupert and Zac!
