Brimming with community spirit, Itchenor May Week 2026 delivered a full slate of sailing and socials!

The week kicked off on Saturday 23rd May with a 420 trip to the Isle of Wight organised by Lucinda Leaver and the Transit Committee. The team set out from Itchenor, escorted by parents in ribs, for a true Swallows and Amazons-style adventure.
Ilcas, Toppers, Mirrors and Teras trained on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Fifteen younger sailors got their hands dirty (colourful!) on tie-dye Tuesday, and, on Wednesday, forty teens enjoyed a memorable summer evening of relays, s'mores and cooling off in the Harbour.
May Week marked the official launch of the Tera Class at ISC, celebrated on Thursday afternoon with hot dogs, cupcakes and plenty of balloons. That evening the junior class captains - Hermione Pattison, Danny Shapiro, Matt Everett, Tom Thorne and Chris Fox - hosted fifty parents at the Aloha Dinner, where everyone met new members and caught up with old friends over Dannys delicious chicken and then put their heads together for fun trivia challenges.
The Fevas began two days of training on Thursday, and Friday, and the 420s competed in part two of the Itchenor-Bosham 420 Challenge beginning on Friday. Red group sailors from ISC and BSC enjoyed a well-deserved break with burgers around the fire pit at ISC later that night, before the week came to a satisfying close on Saturday with the traditional East Head Raid for the Mirrors, Teras, Toppers, Fevas and Ilcas.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined in the fun. Were already looking forward to May Week 2027!
